The Kadut Chair is a contemporary interpretation of a classic mortise and tenon chair, coupled hand sculpted arms and upholstered seats. The class will cover the cutting of open tenons that are double-wedged. The seat is upholstered with a high density foam and your choice of fabric. It’s the perfect introduction to chair making for beginners with detailed instruction from start to finish.
This woodworking furniture making class covers the following topics:
- Mortise and tenon joinery.
- Steam bending of wood.
- Use of bandsaw, sanders, mortiser and tenoner machines.
- Basic hand tools use for adjustment of joinery.
- Basic upholstery (bring your own fabric if you wanna customise it!)
- Hand rubbed oil finish!
This chair should fit inside large family cars but it is slightly on the large side. We recommend booking a delivery service for bringing this home!
Price include all wood and materials. Feel free to bring your own cushion fabric measuring at least 1mx1.4m, and must be off a heavy gauge suitable for upholstery.
Please browse through our gallery for some examples of upholstery fabrics we provide.
(Exact design subject to change overtime as we improve small details of the project frequently to keep updated with the best techniques available!)
