Kadut Furniture Series
Fine joinery projects that pay homage to the traditional woodwork once practiced in Sungei Kadut, the home of Singapore’s woodworking industry.
A Class In Joinery Techniques
This series covers the fundamentals of woodworking joinery. The syllabus covers straight tenons, angled tenons, wedged tenons and dovetail joinery. Completion of these projects will prepare you for further furniture study and truly elevate your woodworking ability.
Mortise and Tenons
We will be covering multiple variations on the mortise and tenon joint, from closed to open, angled to straight, recessed to flat. The details and application of each will be explained in detail to help you understand furniture design.
A classic drawer joint that utilises the long-grain strength of wood fibers to its maximum advantage. Dovetails also look exquisite if done correctly, making it a woodworker’s favourite for drawers and carcasses.
